When David (not his real name) first came to see me, he was exhausted from dealing with constant bloating and unpredictable trips to the bathroom.  Some days he was constipated, other days he had diarrhoea.  On top of that, he often felt anxious and low in mood.

Like many of my clients, David thought he might have IBS and he was right.  He had all the typical signs:

  • Daily bloating and abdominal swelling
  • Constipation and diarrhoea
  • Cramping and abdominal pain

But here’s the thing: IBS is just a label for a group of symptoms.  What really matters is why those symptoms are happening.  That’s what we set out to uncover.

Step 1: Finding His Triggers

We started with a HairSense Nutrition Analysis Test. This showed us which foods, drinks and even everyday products were creating reactions in his body.  When you keep eating things your body is sensitive to, it only fuels more inflammation and more bloating.

Step 2: Looking Inside the Gut

Next, David did the gut test, which gave us a much clearer picture of what was going on:

  • His digestive enzymes were low, meaning he wasn’t breaking down food properly.
  • His gut immune system was overactive, which explained his sensitivities.
  • He showed signs of ‘leaky gut’ and gluten sensitivity.
  • And he had bacteria in his gut that were producing excess gas – a big reason for the constant bloating.

Step 3: Supporting Healing

Once we had this information, we started small.  First, David made some simple food swaps based on his test results.  After a few weeks, we introduced targeted gut-healing supplements and stress-lowering strategies.

And the results?  His bloating reduced, his bathroom habits became more regular and he started feeling calmer and more in control.

The Takeaway

If you’ve been living with ‘never-ending bloat’ and you feel like the only answer is a restrictive diet, there is another way.  The key is finding out what’s driving your symptoms and creating a plan that supports your gut, your body and your lifestyle.
